The town of Kazimierz Dolny, situated on the Lublin plateau, lies on the right bank of the river Vistula on its way to the Baltic. The Kazimierz Dolny community includes the town and 14 Districts. It is a considerable tourist attraction as one of the most beautifully situated little towns in Poland. Kazimierz is known not only in Poland but also abroad. It enjoyed its greatest prosperity in the 16th century and the first half of the 17th century, due to the trade in grain conducted along the Vistula river. In the town centre around the market place,visitors can look up to the renaissance buildings. From the Tower, the ruins of the castle one can enjoy a panoramic view of the town.
